The light terracotta finish has a soft, warm tone with subtle surface variation, giving each planter a unique, handcrafted appearance that sits comfortably in both classic and contemporary garden settings.
With a generous 60cm diameter and a height of 53cm, this Tuscan-style planter offers an impressive 90-litre planting capacity, making it ideal for olive trees, citrus, bay, lavender, rosemary, larger shrubs and seasonal displays. Despite its substantial size, the lighter clay construction keeps the weight to approximately 21kg, making it easier to position on patios, terraces and courtyards than many traditional heavy terracotta pots.
The breathable nature of the natural clay helps regulate moisture levels and encourages healthy root development, while the gently tapered shape and rounded rim reflect traditional Italian design. Suitable for outdoor use, this Italian terracotta planter is a timeless choice for gardens, patios and landscaped spaces where natural materials and Mediterranean style are appreciated.

Product Care
This Italian Light Terracotta Planter uses traditional Italian production methods and natural light terracotta clay to create an authentic Tuscan-style pot. The soft, warm finish and subtle surface variations give each planter individual character and allow it to sit comfortably in both traditional and contemporary garden spaces.
The breathable structure of light terracotta allows air and moisture to move freely through the pot, promoting healthier root growth and reducing the risk of waterlogging. The gently tapered Tuscan shape and rounded rim make this planter ideal for olive trees, citrus, bay, lavender and larger shrubs.
Product Care: Use this light terracotta planter outdoors year-round, ensuring proper drainage. Raise the pot off the ground with pot feet, keep the drainage hole clear, and avoid leaving the planter standing in water, especially during winter. During prolonged periods of severe frost, move the planter to a more sheltered position to help extend its lifespan.

Planting Ideas
Use this Italian Light Terracotta Planter to successfully grow small trees and large shrubs in patios, courtyards and garden settings. The generous volume and breathable light terracotta create stable growing conditions for long-term container planting.
Small trees such as smaller olives, bays, figs, dwarf apples, ornamental pears and Japanese maples perform exceptionally well in this planter. Position the tree centrally and use a free-draining soil mix to allow strong root development while maintaining moisture balance. The tapered Tuscan shape provides excellent stability for top growth and helps protect roots from rapid temperature changes.
For large shrubs, choose plants that respond well to container growing, such as evergreen viburnum, choisya, camellia, rosemary, lavender or compact laurel varieties. These provide year-round structure and work well in both formal and informal planting schemes.
To enhance visual interest and improve soil health, add underplanting around the base of the tree or shrub. Low-growing plants such as thyme, trailing rosemary, ivy, heuchera, or seasonal bulbs soften the surface of the compost, help retain moisture and suppress weed growth. Underplanting also creates a more natural, layered look that suits traditional terracotta planters.
For gardens in Kent and the South East, consider incorporating indigenous, locally adapted plants that thrive in the region’s soil types and climate. Hawthorn, spindle, dogwood, yew and native grasses adapt well to container growing when kept correctly watered and drained. Using native planting supports local wildlife while ensuring reliable performance throughout the seasons.
Always raise the planter on pot feet, use a high-quality compost blended with grit for drainage, and avoid compacting the soil too firmly. This approach allows roots to breathe, encourages healthy growth and helps the planter perform well year after year.
