Use this planter outdoors year-round, ensuring the removable drainage plug is set correctly for indoor or outdoor use. For outdoor use, allow excess water to drain freely and avoid leaving the planter standing in water for prolonged periods, primarily through winter.

Although frost- and UV-resistant, we recommend positioning the trough on a level surface and ensuring drainage remains clear to prevent waterlogging. The lightweight yet durable structure makes it easy to move when required, and the integrated wheels allow you to quickly reposition the planting to suit changing conditions or seasonal displays.

To keep the planter looking its best, wipe the surface clean using a damp cloth. The smooth anthracite finish is easy to maintain and will retain its crisp, modern appearance with minimal effort.

The Deroma Millennium 1m Anthracite Trough Planter is ideal for long, structured planting schemes that demand a clean, modern look with plenty of flexibility. The 1 metre length makes it perfect for defining patio edges, creating low screening, framing entrances, or dividing spaces in contemporary gardens and commercial settings.

For a sharp architectural display, use evergreen structures such as clipped box alternatives, including Ilex crenata, Euonymus, Pittosporum or compact Viburnum. These give year-round shape and work particularly well planted in repeated patterns along pathways or seating areas. You can soften the look with underplanting such as Heuchera, trailing ivy, or compact seasonal bedding.

Ornamental grasses suit this trough perfectly and bring movement without looking untidy. Calamagrostis, Stipa, Festuca and Miscanthus varieties create a modern, natural feel, especially when planted in groups for a uniform, flowing effect. Combine grasses with long-flowering perennials such as Salvia, Nepeta, Echinacea or Verbena to add colour and pollinator-friendly interest through summer.

For UK-native, wildlife-friendly planting, consider thorny indigenous shrubs and perennials such as dogwood (Cornus), hazel whips for a natural screen, compact hawthorn, or native viburnum. Underplant with hardy native-style favourites such as foxgloves, hardy geraniums, primroses, sedges, or wild thyme. It creates a more natural, biodiversity-focused planting scheme while still keeping a bright, linear layout.

If you want a low-maintenance evergreen trough for year-round interest, plant dwarf conifers or compact yew alternatives, then finish with spring bulbs such as alliums or narcissus for seasonal lift. For a softer cottage-style effect, mix lavender, rosemary and small hebes, allowing the planting to spill slightly over the edges. At the same time, the anthracite planter keeps the overall look crisp and controlled.

Parcel Delivery

Smaller products are delivered by parcel couriers, such as TNT and Parcelforce. Upon dispatch, we will notify you via email with the estimated day of delivery and forward you a tracking number.

Pallet Delivery

Larger products will be delivered by our own dedicated delivery drivers or by specialist carriers such as Palletways and ILS who will be given your contact details and instructed to book in delivery with you once your order reaches your local delivery depot.

Shipping Costs

We charge a flat rate of £20.00 for delivery to England, Wales and Central Scotland. We charge a flat rate of £50.00 for delivery to England, Wales and Central Scotland if your order includes any ADEZZ, FORNO or FURNS product.

We are not able to offer a flat rate of £20.00 for delivery to East Central Scotland, North and North East Scotland, West Scotland, Norther Ireland, ROI, Skye, Orkney Isles, Outer Hebrides, Shetland Isles, Inner Hebrides, Isle of White, Isle of Man and the Channel Isles and a surcharge will apply. What if My Order Arrives Damaged?

Our goal is to make buying online with Riverhill Garden Supplies easy, safe and efficient. Although extremely rare items can arrive damaged and we are conscious of this so it is very important for that you read the following.

Upon delivery, please carry out the following steps

• Remove the goods completely from their packaging
• Closely inspect the goods for damages or shortfalls
• Sign for the goods, accordingly, noting damages/shortfalls and refuse the goods
• Notify Riverhill Garden Supplies of any damages/shortfalls within 24 hours by telephoning the office on t 01732 522471. The office is open 7 days a week, from 8am to 10pm including Bank Holidays except Christmas Day. Providing that you have signed for the goods as damaged and refused the goods we will repeat and dispatch your order again or arrange a full refund

The courier is obliged to wait 15 minutes for you to carry out these checks if need be. No claim will be accepted if a clean signature is given. Any claim for damages/shortfall must be made within 24 hours.
